With much sadness, we announce the passing of Betty Faye Allen, 92, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Betty is survived by her loving husband, David Allen; her daughter, Belinda (Allen Amis); her stepsons, Rod (Amy) and Eric (De); her sister, Donna Christensen; her loyal cat, Louie; as well as a host of friends and relatives near and far.

Betty was raised in the small town of Inwood, Iowa, with her two older sisters, LaVonne and Donna, and was proud of her Midwestern roots. She moved to Denver as a young adult, had a career as a secretary, and then became a full-time wife and devoted mother to Belinda. Following the passing of her first husband, she and Dave married in 1977. They had a blessed and loving 47-year marriage, with Dave always by her side.

To know Betty was to love her. She was a lifelong animal lover and had a soft heart for every cat she encountered. As a dedicated cook and talented baker, she hosted many outstanding dinners. Her famous fudge and Christmas cookie assortments were a welcome annual delight for many. As a member of First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction, CO, she was dedicated to her faith, enjoying traditional church hymns and her church community. Her faith was nearly matched by her enthusiasm for her favorite teams, including the Colorado Avs and Broncos. The shining light of her life, however, was Dave and their blended family.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to HopeWest Hospice Center in Grand Junction, CO, where Betty was lovingly cared for in her final days. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to this very special organization.

A service of remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction, Colorado.
