Cindy Lee Belmont

Cindy Lee Belmont passed away peacefully on the morning of July 4th at HopeWest in Grand Junction, Colorado, surrounded by the love of family and friends. She was born in Binghamton, New York, on March 3rd, 1952. She and her husband Marty moved to Colorado in 1978. They were in Berthoud for a short time before moving to Stagecoach. Sixteen years later, they moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, but eventually settled in Rangely, Colorado, for the last 25 years.

Cindy will be remembered by many as the “neighborhood mom,” as children from all walks of life were always welcomed into her home. Love was abundant there, as she enjoyed feeding people good food and spiritually feeding the word of God to anyone willing to listen. Her tenderness and willingness to serve others will be missed by many.

Cindy is preceded in death by her son, Johnny Michael; mother, Lula Mae Hawley; and father, Glenn C Hawley.

She is survived by her husband, Martin J. Belmont; son Danny and his wife, Colleen; daughter Jenny and her husband, Shane Aplanalp; brother, Jimmy Hawley; sisters, Carolyn and Darlene Duncan, Denise Hawley, Thelma Lorraine and her husband, Mike Bissell; nieces Stephanie, Christine, Shannon, Naomi, Jessica, Angela, Jamie; nephews David, Glenn, Mike, Dave, Scott, and Derek. Her (closest to her heart) grandchildren Micah, Ellianna, Sophia, Leland, Uriah, Malachi, Maya, Lizey, Brooke, Peyton, Shelby, Bailey, Madison, Colin, Grace, Jake, and one great-grandchild, Eleanor.

A graveside service will be held in Yampa, CO at South Route Cemetery, Wednesday, July 10 at 1:00 p.m.
There will be a celebration of life in Rangely, CO at Rangely Christian Church, Saturday, July 13th, 2024, noon.
