Ellen Rose McMichael (Daugherty) passed away peacefully at home from complications of pancreatic cancer. When she took her last breath and left this earth, she was welcomed into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ellen was fortunate to be raised in a home with loving parents, the late Robert and Ada Daugherty. She had a wonderful childhood growing up with her 5 siblings: David, Clarice, Robbie, Floyd, and Grace. There was plenty of traveling, picnics, field trips, and adventures. They weren’t rich in material things, but they were wealthy beyond measure in family caring and love.

Ellen met her future husband, Jack, on a blind date and they would marry on September 17, 1960, and raise 3 beautiful children: Jackie, Jim, and Judy. Ellen treasured her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who all stole her heart. She was known for her ability to remember the details of everyone’s birthdays and life stories, even extended family members.

Her many passions included gardening, reading, calligraphy, and most forms of art. She taught stained glass classes and Creative Machine Sewing at Colorado Northwest Community College in Craig. She also volunteered for many years teaching children arts and crafts for Vacation Bible Schools and camps in Craig, Colorado, and Delta, Utah.

Ellen was passionate about her Christian faith and gave generously of her time, money, and talent for the benefit of others.

Throughout her entire life, Ellen demonstrated kindness, compassion, and grace. Her love of beauty in all of God’s creations was celebrated daily. She loved her family and friends and expressed gratitude for her long life, full of wonderful and varied experiences. She was someone to be proud of and learned from as an example of what a life well lived can mean to others.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hopewest Hospice of Grand Junction or the Missionary Fund of Grace Baptist Church of Delta, Utah.
