HopeWest has been named a recipient of the 2016 Hospice Honors award, an elite national award that recognizes hospices that provide the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view.
Presented annually by Deyta Analytics, a division of HEALTHCARE first, the Hospice Honors award winners are announced at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization’s Management and Leadership Conference held each spring in Washington, DC. HopeWest was one of only two hospice providers in the state of Colorado to be named a Hospice Honors Award winner.
“We are elated to be recognized along with a handful of other incredible hospices from across the nation for our commitment to quality care and extraordinary service,” said Christy Whitney Borchard, President & CEO of HopeWest. “It is our mission to profoundly change the way our community experiences senior illness and grief – one family at a time. That this award comes from the families we serve makes it all the more special for our 350 HopeWest staff and 1,300 volunteers. We believe that recognition like this from the patients and families we’re privileged to serve is what makes our care different.”
Award recipients were identified by uating hospices’ performance, as determined by caregivers of the people in their hospice program. Individual hospice performance scores were collected from all surveys for the uation period and were compared on a question-by-question basis to a national performance score calculated from all partnering hospices contained in Deyta Analytics’ database.
“Hospice Honors is a landmark compilation of hospices that provide the best patient and caregiver experiences,” said Bobby Robertson, President and CEO of HEALTHCAREfirst. “I am extremely proud of HopeWest for achieving this highest of honors and I congratulate them on their success.”
