Janine Sue Standish

Janine passed away at 4:20 p.m. at her mother’s home in Delta, surrounded by family and loved ones. “Janibug” had a jovial personality and a gift for poetry and song. She will be greatly missed! Janine was born at Fitzsimmons Military Hospital in Aurora, CO., to Sgt. Peter Standish and Arlene Johnson Standish. She grew up in many states, worked at AMD, Vetterli Plastering of California, Rockies Liquors in Crawford, CO, and even lived in Bora Bora, Tahiti! She learned French and worked at a hotel after her parents left.

Janine is survived by her mother, Arlene Johnson Vetterli, her loving sister, Candace Neeley, both of Delta, CO., her brother, Peter Standish of San Jose, CA., and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her younger sister, Steffani Standish Rabeneau; her stepfather, Byron “Bud” Vetterli; her grandparents, Rev. Pete and Jina Johnson; Uncle Irvin Johnson; Aunt Kathy Subilosky and Aunt Marilyn Standish.

Thank you to the family members who helped and kept us fed and to HopeWest Hospice. The family plans to host a celebration of Janie’s life on Thursday, November 16, her birthday, with loved ones and extended family.
