Kenneth Kelly Cowan, known to his friends and family as Ken, passed away on June 27, 2024, in Grand Junction, Colorado, where he spent the last 70 years of his life. He was born on January 9, 1950, in Greeley, Colorado to Harlan Cowan and Erma Nelson nee Green. Ken was a talented general contractor in the construction industry, stemming from his education at Grand Junction High School and Western University, where he put his passion and dedication into every project.

Ken’s life was marked by his infectious personality and sense of humor. Always quick with a joke or a prank, he had a natural gift for making others laugh. Despite the challenges he faced, Ken maintained a positive outlook, always wearing a smile that brightened the days of those around him. His love for history, trivia, fishing, baseball, and golf was only surpassed by his deep affection for spending time with his extensive circle of friends.

Ken is survived by his sister Jeanine Cowan from Santa Cruz, CA, his brother James (Kathy) Cowan from Kersey, CO, and his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister JoDell Cowan Gibson of Littleton, CO.

Ken loved to work and while he spent most of his time in construction, he ended his career as a bookkeeper for Energy Wise Consultants. Those who knew Ken will remember him as a loyal friend, who worked hard and was honest, kind, and friendly. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him. May he rest in peace knowing that he brought joy to so many during his time on this earth.

Celebration of Life to be announced at a future date.
