Ronald Gene Stevens was born in Canon City, Colorado on March 12, 1939, and quietly passed from this earth at Hope West Hospice Center on June 26, 2024.

Ron was the oldest of five sons born to Finley Stevens and Pauline Lange Stevens. He was proud of living his entire life in our beautiful state and often said he would never live anywhere else. He loved to fish and spend time in the great outdoors. He especially loved spending time at his mountain retreat at Arrowhead Ranch near Cimarron.

He graduated from Grand Junction High School in 1957 and started his life’s profession of being an Auto Body Mechanic, working first for Central Chevrolet, and later for Fuoco Motor Company. He retired from Fuoco in 1998 due to a serious back injury.

He married Patricia McCoy in Grand Junction in October 1960. They had one son, Gary Stevens. Ron and Pat were later divorced.

Ron met his second wife, Donna Maes in 1976. They had a wonderful life together for the next 47 years. Ron enjoyed being a second father to Gilbert and Clarence Maes, Donna’s sons from her first marriage.

Ron is survived by his wife, Donna Maes, his stepsons Clarence and Gilbert, his step-grandson Alexander Maes; his son Gary, his beloved Grandson Brian Stevens and numerous other grand and great-grandsons and daughters; his brother and sister-in-law, Albert and Connie Stevens.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and three of his brothers, Donald, Vernon, and Melvin Stevens.

A graveside service was held at the Orchard Mesa Cemetery on July 2, 2024, with loved ones and friends attending. He is greatly missed.
