Dr. Elissa Tiller, MD, FAAHPM, CPE, Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at HopeWest, accepted a two-year term as a Leadership and Career Development committee member for the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM) based in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Tiller’s role will assist in furthering the Academy’s mission by ensuring physicians are equipped with effective leadership and management skills appropriate for varied and evolving healthcare settings.
“I am honored to be part of the Leadership and Career Development committee to help train and mentor the next generation of physician leaders,” said Dr. Tiller. “Being chosen as a community hospice and palliative medicine physician leader is unusual as this role has traditionally been filled by academic physician leaders. With my experience at HopeWest, I hope to make sure community hospice and palliative medicine physician needs are taken into consideration while developing leadership curricula.”
